Halloween Deviled Eggs
These Halloween Deviled Eggs turn a classic party appetizer into an easy spooky snack.
Creamy egg yolks are mixed with cream cheese, mayonnaise, and mustard, then decorated with black olive spiders for a simple Halloween look.
The addition of cream cheese makes the filling especially smooth and rich while adding a little extra cheesy flavor.
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 2 oz (55 g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar or lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 12 large pitted black olives
- Smoked paprika, optional
Instructions
Boil the Eggs
Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water.
Bring the water to a boil, then cover the pan, remove it from the heat, and leave the eggs for about 10–12 minutes.
Transfer the eggs immediately to a bowl of ice water and allow them to cool completely.
Prepare the Eggs
Peel the cooled eggs and slice each one in half lengthwise.
Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl. Arrange the egg whites on a serving platter.
Make the Cream Cheese Filling
Mash the egg yolks with a fork until finely crumbled.
Add the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, vinegar, and garlic powder.
Mix until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
If the mixture is too thick for piping, add another teaspoon of mayonnaise.

Fill the Eggs
Spoon the filling back into the egg whites or transfer it to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Pipe a generous amount into the center of each egg.
Sprinkle lightly with smoked paprika if desired.
Make the Olive Spiders
Cut six black olives in half lengthwise. Place one olive half in the center of each deviled egg to form the spider’s body.
Slice the remaining olives into thin strips to make the legs.
Arrange four olive strips on either side of each body to create eight legs.
Recipe Tips
For particularly smooth deviled eggs, make sure the cream cheese is fully softened before combining it with the yolks.
A piping bag gives the filling a more decorative appearance, but a teaspoon works perfectly well for a more rustic finish.
Large black olives are easiest to work with when making the spiders. Slice the legs as thinly as possible so they sit neatly on top of the filling.
The eggs can be boiled and the filling prepared a day ahead. For the best appearance, assemble the deviled eggs and add the olive spiders shortly before serving.
Cheese Variations
Cream cheese gives these deviled eggs a mild, creamy flavor without overpowering the traditional filling.
For something stronger, mix a small amount of finely grated Parmesan, smoked Gouda, or blue cheese into the yolk mixture.
Serving
Keep the Halloween Deviled Eggs refrigerated until you’re ready to serve them.
Arrange them on a dark platter or Halloween-themed serving board to make the white eggs and black olive spiders stand out.
For food safety, don’t leave deviled eggs sitting at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
